How does an 'unconference' work?

This is an 'unconference' and it will look and feel different to any event you have been to before, but everyone will have one thing in common - we get sh*t done trying to make a difference.

Together we’ll set the agenda on the first night, and work our way through an inspiring weekend of connections, conversations and shared learning. Read more here.

Who is it for?

It's for you! This event will bring together a group of 100+ diverse, friendly and inclusive women to ensure strong connections are made during the weekend, and so there's enough time to explore a range of topics and gain traction on areas of shared interests.

Meet the locally-based team helping make this event happen here.

Where?

Let’s go to the beach! We've chosen Waihi Beach as the location for our unique event.

To keep costs accessible and enjoy this beautiful location, the majority of the accommodation will be shared. There are limited single rooms available by special request, with a priority for those who require single rooms for medical conditions.

We encourage everyone to stay on-site during the conference because often it's the time 'in-between' the programme that connections are made and strengthened.  There is no discount for staying off-site as the cost for the venue remains the same.  For those that love to camp, there is plenty of room for tents (just remember it's June, so might be a tad chilly!).

We will have amazing on-site childcare for the entire weekend at no extra cost,  so you don’t miss out on attending if it’s difficult to find childcare.

How much?

The confirmed ticket price, per person is $375. This covers accommodation, venue hire, all meals and basic administration costs. More than twenty women will attend via a  scholarship, so please do not let the cost put you off.

On this note, we are on the hunt for more awesome businesses to fund scholarships.  If you’re interested or know of someone who might be, we would love to hear from you. Please get in touch via tauranga@wwgsd.nz

How to apply?

Because we have limited spaces, and diversity and inclusiveness matters to us, we need to run a selection process.

We’re 1000% sure you are an awesome, inspiring, and generally kick-ass person, but sadly we can only accommodate 100 women, so If you aren’t selected, please know it is no reflection whatsoever on your talents or abilities. Rather, it’s our effort to represent diversity as best we can. There are a number of events around the country so do keep an eye out on our site and keep applying!
